Who We Are

Mission Statement

The mission of The Julius Foundation is to carry out the message of Jesus Christ to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, give care to the sick, and serve the poor.  Our efforts are directed at uplifting the lives of the less fortunate in Kampala and neighboring districts in Uganda regardless of religious, tribal, racial or political affiliation.

History

“I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me
I was naked and you clothed me,
I was sick and you visited me…”
Matthew 25: 35-36

Since our beginnings as a parish project in 2007 when Fr. Julius Bwowe from the Archdiocese of Kampala visited the Cathedral of St. Helena, our community has blossomed and our mission expanded in many ways. The Julius Foundation (TJF) was incorporated in 2014 in the state of Montana as a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization to provide aid to communities in Uganda, Africa to relieve the burden caused by poverty. Throughout the years we have worked with our supporters in the US and the Carroll College Engineers Without Borders chapter to complete a number of vital health and safety projects in Kawango, a series of villages outside of Kampala.

We work closely with the residents of Kawango to prioritize our projects.

Some of our greatest successes include: providing access to clean water in the village centers; bringing electricity to the village for the first time; and constructing a variety of necessary buildings for the health, safety and education of students at Holy Trinity Secondary School.

The need is indeed great; however, with commitment to helping Father Julius’ people the future is hopeful.
